The Chair of Composition, which offers education in the speciality of `Musical Art` at Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas, prepares knowledgeable and broad-minded young composers perfectly matching the requirements of the modern world of music.

During studies, students are equipped with knowledge of history, theory and aesthetics of foreign and Armenian music. At the end of the studies, graduates of the Department of Composition are fully proficient in the past and modern forms, genres, means of expression and techniques of music and are able to apply them in their own works.
